15th REUNION SCHEDULE 2003.
REUNION 2003 ITINERARY
COLORADO SPRINGS... Here comes the USS Hudson, DD475 Mark Your Calendar for 1st through 4th October 2003
PLACE: The Ramada Inn North, Colorado Springs, Colorado
PRICE: $45 + tax per night. This includes a shuttle bus from and too the airport, plus a complete hot breakfast each morning.
FQR RESERVATIONS CALL: 1-719-633-5541. If you will be flying into Colorado Springs and would like shuttle service from the airport, please let the hotel know your flight number and time of arrival.
1 Oct.: Wednesday - Arrival - Hospitality Room open. A time to meet, greet, renew old friendships and make new friends. Dinner on your own.
2 Oct.: Thursday - Bus trip to the Air Force Academy and the Garden of the Gods. We will have a Memorial at the Academy Chapel. Roger & Emily Hixon's son, Steve Hixon, Pastor of a Colorado Springs church, will conduct the Memorial. After this we will have a guided tour of the Academy.
From there we will have lunch and a tour of The Garden of the Gods. The Garden of the Gods is the most
photographed site in the U.S. and one of the greatest natural wonders.
3 Oct: Friday - Morning: We will travel to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. After the scenic ride there, we will experience two more rides: The Aerial Tram and The Incline Railway. Lunch is included.
Friday - Evening: We will take a bus trip to the Flying W Ranch, a working cattle ranch specializing in western food. After dinner, enjoy a rip-roaring stage show with real cowboys singing songs of the old West.
4 Oct: Saturday: Trip to Old Colorado City & Manitou Springs.
These areas are located in the foothills of Pikes Peak and have historical areas, shops, museums, restaurants and art galleries. We will drive past the Broadmoor Hotel and other interesting sites. Lunch on your own.
Evening: Our yearly banquet and meeting, catered by the European Crystal Restaurant. This is a 5-star restaurants adjacent to the hotel.
QUITE A BARGAIN-All bus transportation, entry fees, two lunches, steak dinner and stage show, Banquet, all taxes and gratuities for only $150 per person.
Many of you may wonder why we have not included Pikes Peak.
The Visitors & Convention Bureaus of Colorado Springs
recommend that WWII Veterans NOT take this tour. The altitude of over 14,000 feet may cause medical problems for some people. You may, if you wish, make arrangements on your own.
